In 2018, Ajie and her paternal half-sister Yajun moved to Ningbo together. Ajie was born on August 31, 2015, just six days before Yajun. The two sisters have since lived at the same zoo, becoming a familiar pair in Ningbo Youngor Zoo’s ongoing giant panda exhibition and public-education work.

Yajun

Female

Yajun arrived in Ningbo with her older half-sister Ajie in 2018. For years afterward, the pair were known locally as a pair of “panda sisters.” Yajun was born on September 6, 2015. Compared with the more laid-back Ajie, long-running local coverage in Ningbo has portrayed Yajun as the more playful and mischievous of the two.
