Anbao is the older brother in Zhangka's 2022 twin litter. During his growth, he developed hydrocephalus, and the panda center's medical team performed a ventriculoperitoneal shunt. Panda Channel recorded him as the first giant panda in the world to undergo surgery for hydrocephalus; he recovered well afterward.
