Fuwan was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on August 29, 2022, with her twin sister Furu. Because of a congenital spinal condition, she cannot use her hind limbs normally and relies mainly on her forelimbs for movement. The base has provided targeted treatment since she was a cub and has also arranged adaptive training.
