Jiayuan came from the wild in the Wawushan area. When she was found in Hongya, Sichuan, on November 30, 2017, she was in critical condition, and her rescue examination found disabilities affecting both front paws. After recovering, she remained at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and later became the mother of Jiaxin.
