Developed facial swelling and respiratory distress
Developed swelling of the right cheek on March 29, 2026. On March 31, he suddenly developed difficulty breathing; CT imaging showed swelling at the base of the tongue causing upper-airway obstruction, after which he was transferred to intensive care for continuous life support and specialist consultation.
Died after more than 60 hours of intensive treatment
Died at 11:57 a.m. on April 3, 2026, after more than 60 consecutive hours of treatment, when rescue efforts for acute respiratory distress syndrome, severe hypoxemia, and secondary heart failure were unsuccessful.
