Qinyun’s birth marked an important milestone in the Qinling giant panda breeding program. On August 17, 2020, Yongyong gave birth to the female cub, bringing the captive-bred Qinling population into a third generation and creating a family with four generations living at the same time. The following year, she officially received the name Qinyun through a public naming campaign.
