Yibao is a male giant panda rescued from the wild in Baoxing. In 2012, he mated naturally with Shuixiu, another panda from the wild, and they had twins. Ding Ding, the giant panda later sent to Russia, is also his daughter; she later gave birth at Moscow Zoo to Katyusha, Russia’s first giant panda cub.

Rescued from the wild in Baoxing
On December 8, 2006, Yibao was found and rescued in the wild in Baoxing County, Sichuan, and later entered the care of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.

On June 18, 2008, Yibao moved to Bifengxia Panda Base.

Mated naturally with Shuixiu; she later gave birth to twins
Yibao mated naturally with the female Shuixiu in March 2012. On July 24, Shuixiu gave birth to twins.

Mated naturally with Haizi; she later gave birth to twins
Yibao mated naturally with the older female Haizi on April 5, 2017. On July 30, Haizi gave birth to twins at Shenshuping Base, setting the then-records for the oldest giant panda to give birth and the oldest to give birth to twins.
