Baodi and his younger sister Baomei were born on August 8, 2019, at Pairi Daiza in Belgium, the male-female twins Haohao produced there after Tianbao. Their birth also prompted congratulatory messages between the heads of state of China and Belgium, becoming part of the public memory of giant panda cooperation between the two countries.
