Born

Tree climbing has become Pangniu’s most recognizable habit. In 2019, keeper Dong Li from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, who had accompanied her for more than a year, described her as rather timid and said that she felt safer at height. At her fastest, she could climb a tree in about 20 seconds and sometimes stay there for five or six hours.
