Rongyao, whose childhood nickname is Kedou, was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on June 16, 2018. His mother is Kelin. That August, Tencent symbolically adopted the cub and named him Yaoyao, a name drawn from Honor of Kings. Climbing has long been one of his most distinctive habits: he often rests high above the ground and sometimes hangs upside down from climbing structures, making “panda roundup” a little more work for his keepers.
