Kelin’s life record connects the Olympics at one end and giant panda veterinary medicine at the other. In 2015, she gave birth to the world’s first giant panda twins of that year, later named Olympia and Fuwa by the president of the International Olympic Committee, Bach. In 2021, Kelin died from glioblastoma multiforme of the brain; the Chengdu panda base recorded it as the first such malignant neurological tumor in the history of captive giant pandas.
