In 2022, the giant panda known by the childhood name Ai Lun was sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and became the real-life giant panda counterpart to its cultural-tourism mascot, “Anyi.” Ai Lun was born on June 15, 2018. He has a short nose and a round face, and a representative of the Chengdu panda base has described him as gentle-tempered.
