Jiran is most easily remembered for the distinctly gray-white coat he had as a cub. He was born on June 29, 2022, at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and is Jili's fourth cub. When the Chengdu Panda Base presented its 2022 cubs, it directly described him as a male “little gray one,” continuing a highly recognizable gray-white coat trait in this family line.
