Mingming’s two experiences raising cubs in the Qinling program are especially distinctive. In 2021, she gave birth for the first time; her daughter was born on the opening day of China’s 14th National Games and became known as a “National Games baby.” In 2023, Mingming gave birth to mixed-sex twins, including a cub weighing less than 60 grams at birth—the lightest cub born at the Qinling Giant Panda Research Center at that time.
