In 2003, Xuexue gave birth to Lousheng at Louguantai. The cub's survival marked the first successful captive breeding of a giant panda in Shaanxi. By 2020, Xuexue, Lousheng, Yongyong, and Yongyong's cub formed four living generations of the family. As Xuexue grew older, her care team adjusted her daily management to account for her dental health, gastrointestinal condition, and food intake.
