Dabaitu

大白兔

Life status: Living
Born: 2010-07-02

Dabaitu was born at Beijing Zoo on July 2, 2010. To improve the chances of survival for the twin cubs, she was sent that same night to Bifengxia in Ya'an, where the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda and Beijing Zoo jointly provided hand-rearing care at a different location. This cross-institutional rearing arrangement is the most distinctive part of her birth story.
