On the Dragon Boat Festival in 2015, Yinghua gave birth to a female cub at Bifengxia. That cub was Didi, and she was also the first giant panda cub born anywhere in the world that year. Her Dragon Boat Festival birthday inspired an affectionate floral nickname that stayed with her. In later Beijing Zoo introductions, she was also often described as relatively quiet and selective about food.
