Jiabao also has an affectionate nickname, Xiaotudou, meaning “Little Potato.” Panda Channel has long documented his lively side: as a cub he liked grabbing food and rolling in dirt, while as an adult he still enjoys playing in water and climbing trees. His keepers in Lanzhou also continue to call him Xiaotudou.
