Born

Minmin was frail as a newborn and initially struggled even to latch onto a bottle nipple. Keepers had to feed her through a tube for a time before she gradually made it through the critical period. As she grew older, she was selected as one of the ten giant pandas sent to Shanghai for Expo 2010. Wolong experts also noted at the time that, having had frequent contact with people from an early age, she developed a habit of hugging her keepers’ legs.
