Qicheng and her twin brother Qihang were born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on July 2, 2018. Their mother is Qinghe. Qicheng has a rounded muzzle, is lively and active, and enjoys climbing trees, but she tends to be cautious in unfamiliar surroundings. That contrast between activity and reserve is one of her more distinctive traits.
