In 2004, Yingying left Beijing Zoo with Yuanyuan and Tiantian for Wolong to take part in a live giant panda exchange program between Beijing Zoo and the Wolong research center. The exchange was China’s first large-scale genetic exchange program involving captive giant pandas.
