Xingchen’s path toward rewilding began early. She was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on June 23, 2016. Beginning in 2017, Xingchen and Heyu underwent semi-wild training at Panda Valley as part of a human-assisted soft-release program, gradually transitioning to natural bamboo and learning to find water independently. In 2018, the two moved to the Daxiangling Giant Panda Wild Training and Releasing Base for further transitional training.
