Yayi's round face, long eyelashes, and a center-part-like line of fur on her head make her easy to recognize. In years of public observation at Guangzhou Zoo, she has consistently been lively and active, fond of swings, and adept at what keepers call “aerial yoga.” She was born on August 27, 2013, alongside her twin brother Yaer.
