Jiaoyi weighed just 85.3 grams when he was born on June 15, 2022. A tuft of black fur on top of his head made him easy to recognize from an early age, prompting the Chengdu Panda Base to jokingly call him the “strongest antenna” cub. In 2023, Chabaidao became his lifetime sponsor and gave him the sponsored name “Chacha.”
