The conspicuous pale fur around his eyes and his habit of snapping bamboo stalks directly with his forepaws while eating are two features that make Menger easy to recognize. He was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on August 22, 2013, with his twin brother Mengda, as one of the two cubs from Mengmeng’s first litter.
