Cheng Da is one of the twins born to Cheng Ji in 2011. She gave birth for the first time in 2017. In 2019, her second litter was another set of twins; the smaller cub, Cheng Lang, weighed just 42.8 grams at birth, setting what was then the world record for the lowest birth weight of a surviving giant panda cub.

Cheng Da was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on August 15, 2011. She is the older sibling in a mixed-sex twin pair born across the night with her younger brother Cheng Xiao.

Moved to Hangzhou Zoo with Cheng Xiao
On September 25, 2013, Cheng Da moved with Cheng Xiao to Hangzhou Zoo.

Returned to the Chengdu panda base after three years in Hangzhou
On September 18, 2016, Cheng Da ended her three-year stay in Hangzhou and returned to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding with Cheng Xiao.

Cheng Da gave birth for the first time on June 27, 2017, delivering the mixed-sex twins Da Mei and Cheng Lan.
Gave birth to twins Cheng Feng and Cheng Lang
On June 11, 2019, Cheng Da gave birth for the second time, delivering twins Cheng Feng and Cheng Lang. Cheng Lang weighed 42.8 grams at birth, setting what was then the world record for the lowest birth weight of a surviving giant panda cub.
