Yueyue’s childhood nickname, “Little Five,” came from her birth order: she was the fifth giant panda cub bred by Chimelong over three consecutive years. Her public name, Yueyue, was later chosen through an open naming campaign. “Yue” conveys joy and happiness, while also echoing the pronunciation of “Yue,” the common abbreviation for Guangdong, where she was born.
