Born

Junjun was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on August 1, 2011. In December 2013, she moved to Changsha Ecological Zoo with Zhenzhen. Their birthdays were only two days apart, and the pair became known locally as the “sisters.” Long-term observations by Changsha keepers described Junjun as livelier and more mischievous, as well as somewhat selective about food. When their exhibition loan ended in November 2019, both pandas returned to Chengdu.
