Reganmian and his younger twin brother Danhonggao were born on March 17, 2020, the earliest-in-the-year giant panda twins ever recorded at the Chengdu base. At one month old, members of the Sichuan medical team that had supported Hubei helped choose the older cub’s name, Reganmian, after Wuhan’s signature hot dry noodles, commemorating their time supporting Hubei.

Reganmian and his younger twin brother Danhonggao were born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on March 17, 2020. They were the world’s first captive-born giant panda twins of 2020 and the earliest-in-the-year twin cubs ever recorded at the Chengdu base.

Officially named Reganmian
On April 17, 2020, members of the Sichuan medical team that had supported Hubei took part in officially naming him Reganmian; his nursery name was Pingping. The name commemorated their epidemic-response work in Hubei.
Arrived in Atlanta for a 10-year conservation partnership stay
On September 27, arrived in Atlanta, United States, and subsequently moved into Zoo Atlanta, beginning a 10-year giant panda conservation partnership stay.
