Zhen Zhen

珍珍

Life status: Living
Born: August 3, 2007

As a cub in San Diego, Zhen Zhen left keepers with the impression of a bundle of energy: she liked roughhousing with trees and would even bounce on branches until they broke. After she returned to China in 2010, the San Diego family line continued through another generation. Her son Yun Chuan was born in 2019 and went to San Diego in 2024 for a new round of China–U.S. giant panda conservation cooperation, reconnecting the same zoo with this family two generations later.
