Born

Cai Bang weighed only 75 grams at birth, the lowest birth weight recorded for a giant panda cub at Adventure World. At first she could not nurse on her own, and her temperature, breathing and heart rate became dangerously unstable. The care team used an incubator, supplemental oxygen and other support while Rauhin continued maternal care, and the cub survived and grew. Her recovery later became one of the park’s best-known examples of successful care for a low-birth-weight giant panda cub.
