The year Xing Bang was born, Adventure World opened its maternity area to visitors for the first time so the public could observe a giant panda birth and early cub care. A few months later, Xing Bang also became the park’s first cub to be named through an open public naming campaign. Long-term observations from Shirahama described him as energetic and fond of climbing trees and using the swings; his long limbs, large ears and relatively long muzzle also made him easy to recognize.
