As a cub, he was affectionate and often stayed close to his mother, Rauhin, while his long limbs resembled those of his father, Yong Ming. Hai Bang was born on August 11, 2010, with his twin sister Yang Bang, and returned to China with Yang Bang and You Bang in 2017.
