Zhengzheng was born at the Bifengxia Panda Base in Ya’an on July 11, 2012, with twin sister Huihui. In 2013, the sisters were symbolically adopted for life through a giant panda sponsorship program by Zhejiang Zhenghui Lighting and were given the names Zhengzheng and Huihui. In 2023, Zhengzheng gave birth to twin male cubs at the Qinling Giant Panda Research Center.
