Taking part in the “mother-and-cub” rewilding training program with daughter Qinxin was an important part of Shuqin’s life. In 2017, mother and daughter moved from Hetaoping into the second-stage training area at Tiantaishan in Wolong. After more than two years of training, Qinxin was released into Dujiangyan’s Longxi-Hongkou National Nature Reserve on December 27, 2018. Shuqin thus became one of the panda mothers directly responsible for raising cubs within the rewilding and release program.
