Staff at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda have long described Gege as graceful in movement and quiet in temperament. Gege was born at Hetaoping in Wolong on September 6, 2003, the daughter of Gongzhu and Lingling. That calm, unhurried manner also suits the name Gege particularly well.
