One of the most distinctive parts of Xianxian’s adult life has been serving as a mother in the “mother-and-cub” rewilding training program. After giving birth to twins in 2023, Xianxian entered rewilding training with one of the cubs, Aoran. In 2024, mother and cub moved into the second stage of training, directly taking part in giant panda rewilding and release research.
