Aling was one of the ten “Expo pandas” associated with Expo 2010 Shanghai China. At a 2009 Expo-themed media event, Wolong staff noted that she liked sleeping in trees and sometimes refused to come down even at dinnertime until food was placed below. Years later, public descriptions still characterized her as gentle and well-behaved.

Qingcheng was born on August 11, 2017, and was named after Mount Qingcheng. As a cub, Qingcheng was a regular presence on Panda Channel livestreams, constantly climbing and full of energy. The nickname “Toffee” also became popular during that period.
