Qiqie is Qixi’s older twin sister. She was born on the Qixi Festival in 2014, and her name comes from the traditional qiqiao custom of “praying for skill.” Her younger sister was born after midnight and named Qixi, keeping the sisters’ names tied to the same festival. In 2016, they became the first pair of giant pandas to settle in Inner Mongolia.
