Male

Maozhu was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on July 26, 2014, with his younger twin sister Maosun. The siblings became the stars of the world’s first live broadcast of a giant panda birth and the cubs’ early development, and the public later chose the names Maozhu and Maosun on November 20, 2014. In 2016, Maozhu moved to Yunnan Wildlife Park with Zhenduo. Years of observation there have described him as gentle and mild-mannered, fond of outdoor activity and of resting on an outdoor lounger.

Zhenduo was born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on August 4, 2014, to Yongyong and Qizhen. In 2016, he moved to Yunnan Wild Animal Park with Maozhu. As he grew, keepers there came to know him for an outgoing side: he often ate near the visitor side of his enclosure, and his broad sitting posture and enthusiastic way of eating became recognizable traits.
